2. Ranches, Cowboys and J.R.

Those days of cowboys and horse and buggy rides may be gone, but you can still re-live the excitement. J.R. may have moved on, but the allure and glamour of Dallas remains. Take your date to the Southfork Ranch, in Parker Texas, made famous by the TV series Dallas. Tour the house, grab a bite to eat at Miss Ellie's Deli and then stroll around the property where those characters "lived." The museum is not worth the entry fee, unless you want to buy souvenirs.

Ride on one of five authentic streetcars of the McKinney Avenue Trolley. The old tracks were discovered by workers in 1983, and the system is now fully restored and functional. Take a ride from uptown McKinney Avenue to downtown Dallas and feel the breeze through your hair.

Be amazed by the masterpieces displayed in the museums and galleries. There are always various music, dance, and drama performances to choose from. Meyerson Symphony Center - home to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Theater Center, and Cathedral Santuario de Guadalupe.
