I was listening to some radio morning show the other day, and they were talking about a guy who had been involved in a drunk driving accident -- the other party was drunk, hit the guy, and ended up dying. The guy wasn't drunk, wasn't charged with anything, etc... but was wondering when/if he should tell his new girlfriend about the accident.
It got me thinking -- what if you had something like that in your past? What if you were involved in some accident and somebody died? Would you tell the person you're dating? Would you keept it to yourself? If you DO want to tell them, when would you do it? Right off the bat? After you've had a few dates? It seems kind of like a "dammed if you do, dammed if you don't" situation, no?
Anybody out there have anything related? An accident, or even a crime/conviction? When did you bring it up with your SO?
I don't have any secret crimes in my past, but this is an interesting question. When do you bring up something like that? I don't think Miss Manners has a ruling on this one!
