i see so many new members who are not putting photo and i don't know why? very hard top answer mails to someone who i cant see. or are they spam mail and should I not answer?

Hello all I'm new here! I believe when someone doesn't have a photo to view up that no matter what the reason there is a certain reason they don't share themselves in that way too. After all that is who they are too, suposedly!! Sometimes I wonder about that OO, if they really are the person in the photo. I've been told by others on line that some of those can ba faked too and I ran into that myself when a scam was going on at the websites lately. Just have to ask for photo and if no response with a picture then move on. All we can do is try to meet our special someone and be cautious and proceed with some caution and take some time to get to know them.Tk y,sawzzy

Could be for many reasons...they might not have a digital camera to download pictures of themselves. Maybe they are just not ready to take that step yet, maybe they just want to talk to people without having to be judged...it's a mystery, why not ask them..?

I feel like if there isn't a picture they have something to hide. Maybe this is wrong but that's the impression they're giving. Could be the nicest person there is and actually, looks are not the important thing. Still I usually don't even read the profile unless there is a picture. It's like trying to talk to someone with a blindfold on. It just isn't comfortable. I don't understand why there are so many people with no pictures.

For myself I don't have an up to date phote. I have changed quite a bit in just the last 6 months i would rather wait until I can get another photo made which will take awhile since i do not have a digital camera. I work 7 days a week, raising 2 kids by myself so the last thing on my mind is trying to get a camera. Not everyone is scamming.

You wouldn't believe how many scammers post fake pictures of themselves to tempt a person. This is the newest way to take advantage of someone. There's a site devoted to this trend: romancescam.com

Hello - I am the administrator of the site and I have a bit of insight into all of this that I can share.
Actually - scammers more often than not *do* use photos and they're usually maticulous model shots that look too good to be true. Another tell is poor grammar. Now, for what it is worth, eRomance has actually developed a pretty sophisticated 7-layer filter to minimize the impact of this problem upon this community.
It was honestly a BIG problem when we first launched but these days I'm happy to say we successfully block out somewhere between 90-95% of those scammers. But yes, you should always be vigilent. Stay away from people ask you for money or seem suspect. And if you have any doubts, please write to me and I'll be happy to check out a profile for you.

II am new to al of this and find that the only way I can research what is out there is by checking the sites. To do this you always have to register. Even though it is free that is how they get the numbers up. It is easy to register and not necessary to post your photo. I have read many of these non photo ones and I dont think they are really ready . They are just sort of surfing

Wow Neal ... its good to see that the administration of this site takes a real interest in what goes one here! That is refreshing!
As far as people without photos, I hope they realize that a LOT of people won't even respond if there isn't a photo. If its just something they are checking out here they would have much better luck with even a bad pic than no pic. This is about the 5th dating site I have checked out and it does seem to have a lot more folks without photos than some of the other ones.
That doesn't go for me though! Photos don't mean as much to me as some though. I want a guy that can spell lol!

I like what JREADS has done. Even though there is not photo a viewer can get a sense of a personality with an image like that one.
Personally, I won't initiate contact without a photo in most cases simply because I plan to be able to see anybody with whom I am in a relationship. It is nice to be able to put a face to a name.

Hmmmm. I like the whole picture concept but really feel that online dating should start as friendships. I don't care what someone's profile picture looks like but his spelling has to be perfect. I may be weird but I prefer to know they are smart and articulate before I sign on to meet them for a potential love match. I've had some luck with online dating and my current bf bought me a cool book to commemorate our meeting. It's called Click for Love and you can read excerpts at Book By You. I love this site.
