Discussion: A Few things to Remember...

I have posted parts of this on other forums here, and I hope I'm not making the Admin guy crazy!

But these things need to be said. I am 58 years old, have been online dating for 18 months, on and off, and I've seen and experienced some strange and wonderful stuff.

And for goodness' sake - sex and passion are not reserved for the under 30 crowd. It only gets better!

Uploading a picture is easy. If you have a digital camera, follow the instructions to put your pictures on the computer. Once you save the pictures to the computer (with a name that you can remember when you 'browse' to find it again), follow the instructions on this site's profile/picture page to upload it. Please, please, guys and girls - leave the shirt ON.

I don't have a digital camera, but I can scan a photo from my scanner/copier, save it to the computer, and follow the steps above.
If that totally confuses you, call a computer-savvy friend. Some dating sites will allow you to snail-mail a picture, and they will upload and post it for you.

If you are unable to spell, please write your messages and profile info on a word processing program, and then remember to use 'spell check'. You can always copy and paste to get your words where you want them to go. AND DON'T WRITE EVERYTHING IN CAPITALS (AS IF YOU WERE SHOUTING!), or in that awful computer-speak. It's fine for text messages and IMs, but ur jst mking urself look sily and desperite if u dnt chek wht u actully siad. No one can be in that much of a hurry (unless they are married and trying to hide).

Please use common sense - don't give out your personal information until you are sure. Meet at a very public place, and don't be afraid to check up - the Internet is a wonderful place to check someone else's personal information!

You are making a first impression here - no one will want to meet you in person if they already believe you are a slob. If you don't care about yourself, no one is going to want to meet you. You are special- let your potential matches know that!
