It is sensual and gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling afterwards. Is it sex or chocolate? If you cannot decide which you like more, don't fret, neither can most women, although studies do show that chocolate has an edge over sex. How can an inanimate object have an edge over something that is considered the best thing since sliced bread, or for that matter even before that?
Chocolate has been a known aphrodisiac since the dark ages and has been given as a symbol of love since time immemorial, but can it really be competition to sex? Consider this - the "love chemical," or phenyl ethylamine, contains the very same chemical that is responsible for the high you feel with the first flush of love. Researchers also believe that it is this very chemical that causes the brain to release mesolimbic dopamine while you are in the throes of passion to give that unique sky rocketing feeling of elation after an orgasm. Hmmmm... intriguing isn't it?
Another point in case is - the sweet flavor chocolate gives you when it slowly melts in your mouth releases endorphins. These sweet little buggers are responsible for your satisfaction and happiness after a marathon session of love- making. Do you remember the last time you ate chocolate and felt happy? This is why most women suffering from depression binge on chocolate to feel better. Chocolate is also given on St. Valentine Day to remind you of the sweet pleasure that you can expect in the evening.
Now, let us analyze why women are increasingly opting for chocolate over sex. The rigmarole that one has to go to get some serious loving these days is exasperating, which is why many women remain single until their late 30's. Unfortunately, that does not take away the sexual drive, which, for women, peaks around that age, so the simple solution is to munch on the ambrosia-filled nectar of the gods - chocolate. The way it melts in your mouth without you having to rack your brains as to what it will think about you in the morning. You do not even have to wait by the phone for it to call you back - the ball is entirely in your court. If you want it-and anytime you want it, all you have to do is pick it up at your favorite supermarket. The hassle-free relationship that women can share with their favorite chocolate bar or slice of cake is amazing. It gives them total control over their feelings, which is one reason why this shift is occurring. If you can get that ecstasy, that joy, without spending your time moping and moaning about how difficult your relationship is, and how you didn't climax the last time you had sex, what better way to do it than chocolate? If you want to have your chocolate fudge cake and eat it too, then why not try some of that sinful chocolate after sex-if that doesn't blow your mind nothing else ever will!
