While you are there, check out the third most visited attraction in the U.S. - Pier 39 is a hive of activity with rides, entertainment, restaurants, shops, and lively street entertainers. You can easily hop a ferry across the bay to Alcatraz or Tiburon, but do not miss the celebrated sea lion colony that inhabits the nearby abandoned docks. You could spend hours gazing out to sea and holding hands.
Visit nearby Embarcadero. This bustling street has an array of shops and places of historical and cultural interest. The crowds may be a deterrent, but you will really enjoy your time here if your sweetheart is by your side. Walk along the Promenade for added excitement.
